Lucky Charms

One of the (many) things I've admired about my sister is her love of a very specific piece of jewelry - her charm bracelet. She has taken such care and such love with this bracelet and only adds to it on very special occasions.

If you're like her, I salute your patience and persistence with this piece. If you're not, let me show you some fabulous charm bracelets that are ready to wear.

Amazon, Lucky Brand Owl Charm Bracelet, $23
A little boho, and very understated. Perfect for layering or to wear on its own.

Preppy, colorful, and ready for warm weather.

Ann Taylor, Star Charm Bracelet, $49
I think this is my favorite of the bunch because of the diversity of the charms.

Something a bit daintier, but still eye catching.

So if you're looking for a ready to wear charm bracelet - look for something that says you. Look for a charm that you love like an owl, ladybug, moon, you name it, and off you go.

When Life Gives You Lemons

Happy Monday, lovebugs. I hope you had a lovely weekend. Here we are mid-April and the weather is pointing towards warm with a side of happy. And even though it's Monday, I thought we would make lemonade out of it. That's right, how about a lemon print on this sweet Monday?

A great allover print with some special details like a scoop neckline, keyhole peek, and cap sleeves.

This would look amazing with a denim jacket or a white eyelet dress.

For under $20, you're going to get a ton of wear out of this top. Work or play, it's a great option.

Nordstrom, JCrew Lemon Tree Earrings, $58
So fun and colorful. Ok, even tropical.

Sure, it's Monday, and maybe you've got some lemons. So make lemonade, or buy something with lemons on it. Either way, smile.

Shake, Shake, Shake

We've looked at a lot of booties on this blog and today is going to be another one of those days. You may think of booties as cold weather shoes, but I love the new cutout options that are perfect for the warming temps! Peep toe, buckles, and cutouts, these booties are ready for dresses, but you don't need the pedicure just yet.

Remember C. Wonder? Yeah, the fabulous Brad Goreski brought it back and it's better than ever.

Sole Society, Evie, $99
Suede perfection. Also comes in fennel or navy.

Crisscross buckles in a stacked heel. So comfortable, so stylish.

Steve Madden, Hilltop, $99
Slip on bootie is taken to a new level with these beauties.

Don't put away your booties for spring, pair them with a sundress or bf jeans. Or try out any of these cutout booties on for size.

Epitome of Preppy

Hey there lovebugs! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend full of football, snacks, and friends.  It's getting chillier here in the nation's capital and that means it's my favorite time of year: sweater weather.

While I could go on for days about sweaters and how amazing they are, I wanted to focus today's post on a specific pattern for sweaters: argyle.

Argyle is derived from the tartan of Clan Campbell, of Argyll in Scotland.  It first found its way onto the American fashion scene in 1949 when the president of Brooks Brothers came back from a golf tournament in Scotland with the argyle pattern in hand.  Since then it has symbolized the epitome of preppy.  Seen on socks, sweaters, vests and other garments, argyle has taken off here in the US.

So on the topic of argyle sweaters, here are my recommendations:

This can be belted and paired with a black pencil skirt, or worn on the weekend with a pair of black leggings

Old Navy, Argyle Sweater, $34.50
Lambswool, from Old Navy? Cozy central.

Tommy Hilfiger, Argyle long sleeve V neck, $45
I LOVE the multi-color of this print, makes it so versatile!

Talbots, argyle vest, $45
This bow at the base of the v-neck? So enticing...

Banana Republic, Heritage argyle vest, $79
While I don't love the matching of the shirt underneath, this vest is adorable.  And because the print is larger, you look less like a ladies golfer.
