Gift Guide: For Mom

We are back with a gift guide today and it's for the all important mom. I don't know about you, but I am starting to find mom more and more difficult to shop for. I want the perfect something to convey how much I love her but I also can't break my budget. Of course you can do the sweater set, there's no shame in that, but I don't need to line that up for you.  Here are some great out of the box options.

Gift Guide: Booze Hound

Ok we all have them, or maybe we're that friend. The booze hound. Just embrace it. It's the person who has the stocked bar, the not even that expensive but so delicious wine, the generally awesome cocktail recipes off the top of his/her head.

Here's what to get them.

Spend Some Give Some

Hi lovebugs, I hope you had a nice weekend. Today we are taking a look at some great pieces of fashion that give back. Shop for a cause if you will. There a ton of retailers out there doing good work. Today we're going to congratulate just a few of them.

Angela Roi's vegan leather bags come in a variety of colors, each one supports a different cause. Orange is for fighting kidney disease.

Tom's, Correa Sandal, $59
We all know and love Tom's story, and when I read Jonathan Adler teamed up with them and added his colorful patterns to these comfy sandals, I had to have em.

This adorable (and personalize-able) tote benefits the David Sheldrick Trust that helps save endangered African elephants.

Stella and Dot, Hope Necklace, $69
100% of the proceeds from the this necklace goes to support women's cancer research.

So let's try to spread a little love when we spend. What are your favorite ways to shop for a cause?

Rainbow Brite

Happy Monday lovebugs,
To brighten your Monday I thought we could look at some color. Not just a neon or a Pantone favorite, I mean the whole rainbow. Let's look at some pieces with a rainbow of colors. Make it pop.

BaubleBar, Rainbow Starlite Bib, $58
Why wear one color when you can flaunt them all with this floral statement piece?

Talk about a going out top. This little number has the perfect v-neck and a great spaghetti strap.

Jonathan Adler, Rainbow Pouch, $78
A great graphic clutch for spring. It's a little retro and a lot adorable.

How perfect is this creative and artsy necklace? I'd wear it with a simple tshirt and let the colors do the talking.

Forever 21, Pot of Coffee PJ Set, $12
Ok maybe not a colorful option but isn't it true?

The rainbow option is always a cheerful one to go to for spring. You can pair it with something easy like jeans or a simple black tshirt.

That's One Funky Flower

Hey there lovebugs,
I'm pretty pumped about today's post, because I combined two really hot trends for spring and I have to say I'm a little proud of myself. Ok, brace yourself. The first trend: floral. Huge for spring, colorful and vibrant and so many options to fit your personal style. The second trend: mod. Mod is going to be pretty big this season. I'm talking big stripes, boxier cuts and a more 60s vibe for patterns. So today....drumroll....mod floral. Let's do this.

Modcloth, Prim and Posh Dress, $44
I love this dress. It is so chic and old school. The floral panel is understated yet intricate.

You really can't beat these colors. They are so fabulous and adorable.

No seriously guys. Big, beautiful print, perfect for work or play, $11.

Simple, sweet and the perfect addition to bf jeans OR a sundress.

How'd I do guys? Mod floral. It's going to be a thing. You're welcome.

Update Your 9 to 5

I have a confession: I love stationary, pens, and any other form of personalized office supply. There. It's out. Now, let's shop for it!

My go to notepads at work aren't your average Mead notebooks. Instead I prefer Kate Spade. (Try to act surprised) These notepads fit in a purse, aren't super bulky and the neon colors keep me alert and perky.

Kate Spade, Small Notepad Set, $12

Filing can be a mundane task, especially if have a giant stack of papers staring at you; but with these girly and totally chic folders, your afternoon is looking up!

The Office Stylist, Sprial Design File Folders, $9.95

Let's face it, Bic pens are boring and so is the drawer you keep them in. So let's jazz it up. First the pen holder that I'm obsessed with:

The Office Stylist, Mirror Mirror Pen Cup, $14.95

And the pens

Barnes and Noble, Jonathan Adler Weight & Teal Green Metal Pen Set, $13.95

Now the mouse pad. Some people like the monogram, my bf used Zazzle to make me a custom mouse pad with my main squeeze, Sam dog on it; but another fun option is the notepad mouse pad. Need to make a quick note? Wanna write down a phone number for later? Try this Lilly Pulitzer note mouse pad:

Preppy Princess, Lilly Pulitzer Take Note Mouse pad, $15

I'm also a fan of decking out your cubicle so it's a place that you actually want to do work in. I used different ribbons and push pins to argyle some fun colors and patterns along the walls of my cube. And don't forget pictures! Instead of frames that collect dust, use colored construction paper and make your own to put up!

Just because you're in a 9-5 doesn't mean it has to look like it. Have some fun and personalize your office life!
