Green and White

Today is my hometown team, the Philadelphia Eagles.  Philly fans are notoriously bad but hey, I think it's part of their charm.  I also love their colors: green and white.  White jewelry or a crisp white button down shirt mixed with a deep green.

I love Jess LC because she is a girl on a mission to do what she loves and make it her job.

The way these shorts lay so flat on the body makes them very attractive, because they had the potential to be a puffy mess.

Classic, crisp, and just perfect for any occasion.

Modcloth, Four-est Square Dress, $44
This is to be worn while drinking a Manhattan or something equally retro and chic.

I love a good, deep green, it's saturated and decadent, and you mixed with white, it really pops.

Be fabulous today!

Angle to the Right

Oh Mondays.  So lame.  I hope you had a good weekend though!

Today I thought we'd jump right into some jewelry.  I was grabbed by a new style I saw in one of my magazines over the weekend.  Angular jewelry.  Gives the accessory some edge!

J Crew, Hazel bracelet, $40
The brass in combination with the bling is so opposing, but it works!

I'm loving the symmetry but also the sharp lines of these earrings.  For me it's like art meets an Excel doc.

Urban Outfitters, UO Geometric necklace, $29
Sharp edges really give definition to this piece.  Subtle, yet statement.

Kenneth Cole, Pyramid Bangle, $32
Kind of industrial no? I like these with a suit!

What do you think? Do you prefer the rounded edge and more feminine jewelry?  I think these are great to mix in when you're in ruffles and silk.  Have fun with it!

Be fabulous today!

Bangle Bracelets

Hey lovebugs!  It's humpday. Tomorrow I leave for New Orleans for a week for work, but fear not! I will keep blogging, because, well, that is how much I love you.

Today we're talking bracelets.  Bangle bracelets are always fun for Spring and Summer, they are a cheery and easy way to spice up an outfit.

This is perfect with an LBD or with jeans, naturally, it's Kate.

One of my fave designers/bloggers, Jess LC!

Forever 21, Zebra stripe bangles, $6.80
A little wild? I love it!

Belle Noel, Love Stack Bangles, $78
I really like these because they're so boho chic

Bangle bracelets can be worn with any style: preppy, boho, animal print, you name it.  They're an easy add on to any outfit!

Be fabulous today!

November Dos and Don'ts Guest Post from MML

A huge thank you to Jess for letting me guest post this over at MML this week.  Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Hey there lovebugs.  Welcome to the holiday season!  Fall is upon us and before you know it Santa will be right around the corner.  But before he gets here I wanted to do a special list on thankfulness.
thankful (adjective)- feeling or expressing gratitude; appreciative.
Synonyms: gratitude, admiration, love
For one moment, sit still and think about the word thankful.  When was the last time you used it?  Maybe in the form of “thank you” which if you ask me isn’t used enough these days.  Perhaps it was a casual “thanks” or in an email “tx”.  But when was the last time you thought about the word “thankful”?  Was it last Thanksgiving?  When were you last FULL of thanks? Let’s try to be more thankful year round instead of just at the holidays.  There is so much in our daily lives that we take for granted.  Be full of thanks for the little and the big things.
Here’s my list of the dos and don’ts of being thankful.

Do

  • Be thankful for your mom’s/grandma’s/sister’s/or aunt’s apple pie recipe.
  • Take time every single day to think about just ONE thing you are thankful for, even if its an awesome eyebrow wax.
  • A la mode everything.
  • Do take seconds.  On everything: dinner, life, friends, and family.
  • Give back.  However you can.

Don’t

  • Wear Spanx to Thanksgiving dinner.
  • Be greedy or gluttonous.
  • Think about the calories in the gravy: if you eat it with turkey ON Thanksgiving its 0 calories.  You didn’t know that?
  • Forget to ask your grandparents to tell you a story about their past.
  • Forget your sneakers on Black Friday.

Nordstrom's Half Yearly Sale

It's rare that I dedicate an entire post to one store or outlet.  Only for very special people like Jess LC or a fantastic sale a la Loft. Today is one of those fantastic sale days!  It's the Nordstrom's half yearly sale for women.

My love of Nordstrom's started when I was just a wee TCB.  My dad used to take me to the King of Prussia Mall (one of God's greatest creations) and I would follow him through the men's department while his trusty personal shopper fitted him in the most beautiful suits and loafers I've ever seen.  Later in life I discovered the shoe department.  There are no words to describe the beauty of this part of the store, but I will say the customer service and the Nordstrom's signature 'bring the shopping bag around the counter to the customer' is something I always cherish.

Here are some of my favorites from this years sale!

Love the ruffle detail on the shoulder and if you zoom in the dress has a nice curved seam right at the waistline, which makes the sheath dress fit like a glove.

If this isn't the perfect Saturday throw on, I don't know what is!

I love these cords because they come in tons of colors AND they're not skinny fit which makes them great for flats and heels, and a little more work appropriate.

Can we just stop for a second on this one?  Ok. Jewel tone heaven, twisted sleeveless detail, empire waist band and a pleated skirt that floats away from the body.  Perfection.

Such a feminine loafer, ultimate prep.

You know I can't say no to something Kate Spade on sale.  This is such a cute bangle and on the inside is a hidden idiom "Sweet Nothings"

Comes in a variety of colors and is a perfect coat for Fall.

Purple Spirit Day

Today is Spirit Day. It's a day to recognize the need to stop bullying. That's why a lot of your friends and followers' pictures are purple! Yes I turned my pic purple, and I supported Spirit Day by wearing purple today; but I'm not going to make this a preachy post. You can get that on the 16,048 websites talking about it today. The good news is, purple is also my favorite color!!! So today's post in honor of Spirit Day will be some of my favorite purple items!

Also- don't forget to send in your Friday Foodday recipes!

Modcloth, Belle of the Ball, $49.99
There are no words to describe the classic sophistication of this high waisted skirt. I absolutely love the jewel tone and the pleating.

While some of you may already love Jess' blog (and my amazing guest posts there), I also love her jewelery. My favorite one from this collection though is the Diversey Single Paisley bracelet

Poster Pop, Martini Time, $15

Enzo Angiolini, Maylie, $59

Old Navy, Suede belt, $16.50
Purple suede? Hello luxurious at an affordable price!

Jess LC

Today I was lucky enough to be featured as a guest blogger on Jess LC's site Makeunder My Life. I greatly admire Jess as a twenty-something on a mission, so as a thank you for taking a chance on me- I wanted to share some of her jewelry pieces that I love the most.

In 2008 Jess LC's jewelry was being sold in over 100 stores nationwide, and now women everywhere (Including Bachelorette Ali!) are scooping up pieces left and right!

This is my favorite of all of her necklaces. I just love the simplicity and grace Jess was able to show through her Armitage collection. Armitage Two Strand Three Link Necklace $42

This necklace is cute and you're doing good by wearing it! A portion of the proceeds go to "Bright Pink" which is a non-profit that provides education and support for women with breast and ovarian cancer. The Pink Lemonade Necklace $40

I love the cool funkiness of these earrings- totally ready for jeans, black pants, or a bridesmaid dress. Division Teardrop Earrings $50

I love the Franklin collection because it features braille on one side and text in English on the other. Franklin DREAM BIGGER Braille Necklace $58
