Ba Da Bow

After a rainy Monday I'm in need of something pretty. Then I stumbled on some beautiful bow sandals and I was pleased. Let me explain.

Ann Taylor, Erica Suede Bow Sandal, $89
I am obsessed with this sandal. It comes in a handful of colors but I am all about this navy.

H&M, Sandals with Bow, $24
Looking for a lower option? How about a metallic flat?

Who needs one bow when you can have four?

Kate Spade, Idalah Sandals, $98
And for something vacation ready, I give you these colorful yet simple sandals!

How can you not smile wearing these summer sandals?

Cold Caller

Today's post is inspired by my weekend, well my dog's weekend. Norman had a tough one. He's fine but he's in the cone of shame for two weeks. To honor Norm, we are looking at playful collars on tops and dresses that are perfect for summer.

Nordstrom Rack, Ruffle Twofer Dress, $69
I'm loving, loving this dress. Bow waist, pleats, stripes, and a ruffle collar.

Gathered collar in a sweet blush. Also comes in a great monochrome print.

Nordstrom Rack, CAD Sleeveless Ruffle Tank, $9
Under ten bucks? Yes. Also its a sweatshirt so crazy comfy.

Ann Taylor, Pleated Collar Blouse, $69
Slightly less exaggerated than the other options but still a standup collar with some pop.

While Norman won't be wearing any of these beauties, I think a bold collar is always a great option to dress up an outfit.

Lucky Charms

One of the (many) things I've admired about my sister is her love of a very specific piece of jewelry - her charm bracelet. She has taken such care and such love with this bracelet and only adds to it on very special occasions.

If you're like her, I salute your patience and persistence with this piece. If you're not, let me show you some fabulous charm bracelets that are ready to wear.

Amazon, Lucky Brand Owl Charm Bracelet, $23
A little boho, and very understated. Perfect for layering or to wear on its own.

Preppy, colorful, and ready for warm weather.

Ann Taylor, Star Charm Bracelet, $49
I think this is my favorite of the bunch because of the diversity of the charms.

Something a bit daintier, but still eye catching.

So if you're looking for a ready to wear charm bracelet - look for something that says you. Look for a charm that you love like an owl, ladybug, moon, you name it, and off you go.

Laid Back in Linen

One of my favorite fabrics for summer is linen. It is breathable and light - so easy for some of the hottest days of the year. Here are some fantastic shirt options that are casual and cool.

Lucky Brand, Stripe Split Back Shirt, $79
How about this beauty? Check out the back!!

Nordstrom, JCrew Metallic Linen Tee, $49
A great upgrade for a tee.

Dress this up or down with the right accessories.

Mango, Frayed Linen Shirt, $59
A relaxed button down in a blush hue.

Relaxed and laid back for summer. Linen all day!

She's On Another Tier

Let's talk tiers. They offer some lovely dimension to an outfit without a pattern or print. A tiered top is breezy and great for summer.

Love love love this top. The v neck, the waistline, love it.

Not feeling the hot pink? This jersey top comes in five other colors.

This is the top that inspired this post. Perfection for the office.

OK, ok I'll give you another polka dot, relax!

Looking for something that isn't skin tight but looks fitted and fantastic? Look no further than these great tops!

Cardigans for Cool Conference Rooms

I've been at a conference yesterday and today and it's been unsurprisingly frigid in the meeting rooms. But what's a girl to when it's May and 75 degrees outside but approximately 32 inside? You get your cardigan. While sweater weather is over, the spring cardigan is a great layering piece for those unexpected chilly moments.

A pop of yellow is always welcome in the springtime. This cardigan is fitted and slim which is great for a printed card.

Banana Republic, Merino Boyfriend Cardigan, $78
A lovely lightweight merino is great in a staple color like a washed gray.

As the description states - preppy meets practical. Amen.

Ann Taylor, Open Cardigan, $69
Always have an open cardigan in your closet. They are great for travel and cold meeting rooms.

Spring cardigans have a great place in my rotation. Over cooled offices and conference rooms will never win against a light cardi.

Lucky to Be in Lavender

Hello and happy Monday. Today's blog is in honor of my apartment guest this weekend. A dear friend who is getting married next month and her new last name will be Lavender. I know, score. She was here all weekend and then her Sunday night flight got cancelled. So today, we honor her and her patience with all things lavender.

Anthropologie, Adaenia Twist Front Top, $38
Who doesn't need a crazy soft top for summer? I love the front seam and twist.

Nordstrom Rack, Free People Allure Pullover, $42
I love a slouchy sweater. And this one has personality.

Ann Taylor, Knot Front Top, $64
Perhaps the best comfortable work top of all time.

Let's start and end with a comfy summer tee. Sweet, playful, and comes in a variety of colors.

Let's hope soon to be Mrs. Lavender is in the air shortly and back to South Carolina. In the meantime,  we'll amuse ourselves with these fantastic tops!

What A Colorful World

Remember when colorblock used to be THE thing? What happened? Did we give up? Well I'm not quite over it. Maybe we can tone it down from the major color combos of two years ago, but I am really loving these pieces.

Last Call Neiman Marcus, Colorblock Zip Pocket Sheath Dress, $89
Oh hello mod chic.

A beautiful cotton pullover that is great for the not quite warm weather we're having right now.

Originally $325. Get on this.

Ann Taylor, Colorblock Tie Blouse, $64
This blouse is so eye-catching. I love the color combination because you can pair it with so many options.

Who says colorblocking is over? I love mixing surprising colors together to make a really chic look.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is my mom's birthday! Have a happy, mom! Technically she's a leap year baby, but we celebrate today. So without further ado, everything she would love and I'd love to get her if I had an unlimited budget.

Nordstrom, Adelyn Rae Culotte Jumpsuit, $98 $58
Mom and I spent the last year on Weight Watchers, and let me tell you, she looks amazing. She should show it off in this killer navy jumpsuit.

Mom's super into a statement necklace, and I think this olive green would be perfect with her skin tone.

Extra points for texture. I love this top because you can pair it with any print.

My mom has excellent shoe taste, especially when it comes to flats. She would rock these.

Happy birthday to the best lady I know!

Legs for Days

I love patterned tights because they give personality to an otherwise demure accessory. Colors, prints, not always my thing, but a great pattern, and I'm talking beyond fishnet, is so much fun for work.

Nordstrom, Commando Colette Tights, $36
Hello glamour.

Express, Polka Dot Full Tights, $10
You know I love some dots and I love the price even more.

Ann Taylor, Scalloped Tights, $20
A great scallop hem is so sweet, I love it even more with tights!

A great stripe that will look even better with a wool pencil skirt.

Dress up your legs this winter with a fun pattern that makes your outfit stand out! Try dots, stripes, lace, anything that catches your eye.
